Revlon Colorstay Foundation
13:38hey girlies!
I've heard sooo many people raving about the revlon colorstay foundation, so I had to purchase it for myself and see what the hype was all about.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation - Combination/Oily
Brands Claim -
Overview - The revlon colorstay combination/oily foundation claims to provide wear for up to 24 hours. It also states that it will give you a flawless look and lightweight feel. The foundation gives you SPF15, which isn't as much as other foundations provide. However this is good for flash photography and so can be used for special occasions where pictures will be taken. Revlon has recently brought in the pump which makes it much easier and cleaner to use, and obviously much less is going to waste compared to before when it was without the pump, where it could get a little messy.

Undertones -
180 - sand beige - warm, yellow/neutral undertone
310 - warm golden - warm, golden undertone
Skin-type -
The revlon colorstay foundation provides both normal/dry and combination/oily foundations. My skin is combination/oily in the summer and normal/dry in the winter however I heard the normal/dry sticks to dry patches therefore I bought the combination/oily foundation. However I feel it still clings to the dry patches I have on my nose and around my mouth.
Coverage -
When I use this foundation on a daily basis I like a medium coverage; enough to cover my imperfections but still light enough to have a natural look. I like that this foundation can give you light to full coverage. One layer (3/4 pumps) gives a medium coverage but you can use a damp sponge to sheer it up, but it is also buildable to a full coverage. The foundation does cover most imperfections, but i found that some of my larger spots were still peeping through the foundation. Its worth the mention that you do need to work fast with this foundation as it does dry quickly.
The Feel -
I would expect this foundation to feel heavy when providing a medium/full coverage, however I agree with the brands claim that it feels light weight as it does not feel cakey at all.
Finish -
It provides a flawless matte base and so even though it is a drugstore foundation, it does feel high-end and can be used for special events.
The Range -
Even though the combination/oily range has 13 shades, I still found it difficult to find my shade as there is not many yellow undertones. The range provides more cool pink tones which is a huge minus for this foundation. Therefore I had to purchase two shades to mix in order to find my perfect shade. So if your skin has cool undertones, this foundation is more for you.
Duration - The brand claims that the foundation provides wear for up to 24 hours. Of course I haven't been able to wear the foundation for 24 hours lol, however around the 10 hours that I do keep the foundation on, it did not budge.
Overall - Although it was difficult to find my shade, I still really love this foundation. Even though it is a drugstore foundation, it still provides a high end coverage and look. It's a drugstore foundation I can use daily as well as for special occasions such as weddings or parties. It is also affordable which is a plus.
